VILLAGE OF PENN YAN AND TOWN OF MILO

NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING UPON PROPOSED ANNEXATION

The Village of Penn Yan and the Town of Milo, each having been served with a copy of a petition for annexation pursuant to Article 17 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, have set a joint public hearing thereon

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Penn Yan, County of Yates, State of New York, jointly with the Town Board of the Town of Milo, County of Yates, State of New York will be held at the Penn Yan Village Hall, 111 Elm Street, Penn Yan, New York, on the 23rd day of October 2024 at 6:00pm upon the petition for the annexation into the Village of Penn Yan of premises consisting of 72.757 unimproved acres on the northeasterly corner of N.Y.S. Rte. 14A and Kimball Road, being tax map parcel no: 61.02-1-6.11 which premises are premises are presently owned by the Yates County Industrial Development Agency.

If approved by each Board the effect will be to permit annexation of the subject premises into the Village of Penn Yan.  Those premises are presently located within the Town of Milo, outside the limits of the Village of Penn Yan.  The territory proposed to be annexed is contiguous to the southerly boundary line of the Village.

All persons interested in this proposed annexation of territory into the Village of Penn Yan will be heard by the Board of Trustees and the Town Board at the Joint Public Hearing to be held as stated above.

Any person with a handicap wishing to attend and/or be heard at the public hearing should contact the Village Clerk's Office at elast five (5) business days prior to the date of the public hearing to request any special needs.

A copy of the Petition for Annexation may be examined at the Office of the Clerk of the Village of Penn Yan, 111 Elm Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527 and the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Milo, 137 Main Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527 during regular business hours as well as on the Village website: www.villageofpennyan.com or Town website: www.townofmilo.com.
